Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Building Automation Technician with Prime Partners, your day-to-day tasks will revolve around the installation, programming, and maintenance of building automation systems. Core Building Automation Technician Responsibilities

• Program, Commission, and Troubleshoot Systems: You will be tasked with the programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of sophisticated building automation systems, ensuring they meet both design specifications and operational efficiency.

• Configure DDC Controls: Configure Direct Digital Controls (DDC) for HVAC and related mechanical systems to maximize performance and reliability.

• Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, playing a crucial role in project planning and execution.

• On-Site Troubleshooting and Documentation: Conduct on-site troubleshooting for control systems and mechanical integration, documenting installation processes and maintaining accurate project records.

• Advanced Technical Duties: Engage in advanced network configuration, integrate new technologies with existing systems, and implement cybersecurity measures to protect building automation networks.

• Regional Project Specifics: Adapt to specific regional challenges, such as high humidity and temperature variations in the Savannah area, ensuring systems are optimized for local conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 2-7 years as a Building Automation Technician is required, with a solid background in system integration and troubleshooting.

• Certifications: Essential certifications include Niagara N4 Certification, Tridium AX Certification, and OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training.

• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Alerton, or JCI Metasys systems. Strong understanding of HVAC operations and DDC systems, with the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.

• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and comfortable working on construction sites with various physical demands.

Tools & Equipment

• Personal Tools: Technicians are expected to have a basic set of hand tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, and wire cutters.
