What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

As an Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, you’ll be an integral part of our team, working on significant multi-year projects in White Plains, NY, along with additional projects in neighboring cities such as Yonkers, New Rochelle, and Mount Vernon. You’ll gain hands-on experience in electrical systems installation, contributing to large-scale retail and warehouse facilities. Under the mentorship of experienced journeymen, you’ll learn the ins and outs of the trade, ensuring that our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

Assist in Electrical Systems Installation

Your primary responsibility will be to assist in installing electrical systems. This includes running and securing conduit (EMT and PVC) and pulling, terminating, and labeling wiring for lighting and power circuits. You’ll work closely with journeymen electricians to ensure all installations meet project specifications.

Contribute to Control Systems Setup

You’ll help install and test control systems for HVAC, security, and automated doors. This will involve following blueprints and detailed instructions, ensuring that each system functions correctly and safely.

Prepare and Organize Work Areas

A key part of your role will be to prepare work areas by organizing tools, equipment, and materials. This ensures that operations are efficient and that the job site remains safe and orderly.

Troubleshoot Basic Electrical Issues

As you gain experience, you’ll learn to troubleshoot basic issues in electrical circuits and control systems. This will involve diagnosing problems and working with your team to find effective solutions.

Additional Common Activities

• Assisting in the installation of lighting fixtures and equipment wiring.
• Performing routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems.
• Learning and applying safety protocols to all tasks.

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

Skills and Experience Required

To succeed in this role, you’ll need 1-4 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician. You should have the ability to handle and install conduit and wiring in a structured environment, and be comfortable working at heights on ladders and lifts. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing tools and job site materials.
