What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

At Prime Partners, we have a significant multi-year project underway in Rowland Heights, CA, with additional projects in nearby cities such as Hacienda Heights, La Habra, and West Covina. As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll be an essential part of our team, working closely with journeyman electricians to ensure our projects meet the highest standards. Your role will be hands-on and dynamic, giving you a comprehensive view of the electrical trade and preparing you for a fulfilling career in the industry.

Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

Assist with Electrical Installations

You’ll assist journeyman electricians in installing wiring systems, conduits, and electrical fixtures for commercial construction projects. This involves safely pulling and terminating wire runs, setting up electrical boxes, and configuring temporary power systems.

Follow Blueprints and Schematics

You’ll interpret and follow blueprints to install electrical infrastructure accurately. This precision work ensures that our installations are up to code and meet the project’s requirements.

Perform Basic Troubleshooting and Repairs

Under the guidance of experienced electricians, you’ll perform basic troubleshooting and repair tasks. This will help you develop diagnostic skills and a deeper understanding of electrical systems.

Maintain Tools and Materials

Keeping tools and materials organized and in good condition is crucial for safety and efficiency on-site. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that everything is ready for use when needed.

Adhere to Safety Practices

Safety is a top priority on all our sites. You’ll strictly adhere to safety regulations and practices, contributing to a safe working environment for everyone.

Additional Daily Activities

• Participate in site meetings to understand project goals and timelines.
• Assist in the preparation and clean-up of work areas to ensure efficiency.
• Support the team in testing and inspecting electrical systems to ensure quality control.

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

Qualifications and Experience

To join our team, you must possess a valid Electrical Trainee Card from the CA Department of Industrial Relations and have at least 1 year of experience in the field as an Apprentice Electrician.

Essential Skills

• Understanding of basic electrical principles and eagerness to learn advanced techniques.
• Strong hands-on abilities, including the physical capacity to climb ladders and lift equipment.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols.

Must-Have Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in electrical work.
• Good communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
