Job Description: Retail Apprentice Electrician

Nipper Electric is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Apprentice Electrician to join our dynamic team in Gastonia, NC. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects and gain valuable hands-on experience in the electrical trade. As a Retail Apprentice Electrician, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians to develop your skills and contribute to the successful completion of commercial electrical installations.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial settings, including office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• Learn and apply the principles of electrical theory to practical tasks on the job.
• Support the lead electricians in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing necessary repairs.
• Use power tools and basic test equipment to conduct routine checks and ensure the integrity of electrical systems.
• Assist in the installation of conduit systems and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Attend training sessions and safety meetings to enhance knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial environment.
• Valid electrical license for the state of North Carolina.
• Proficiency in using power tools and basic test equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with conduit bending is highly desirable.
• Previous experience working on commercial projects is an advantage.

• Primary location: Gastonia, NC
• Neighboring cities: Belmont, Mount Holly, Lowell, Ranlo, and Dallas, NC.
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours and occasional overtime as required.
