Cable Installer at Myro Electrical

Myro Electrical, located in the scenic city of Newport, RI, is seeking a skilled Data Center Cable Installation Technician to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting mission-critical facilities in Newport and surrounding areas, including Middletown, Portsmouth, and Jamestown. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in data center infrastructure, particularly in structured cabling, fiber optics, and cooling separation. As part of Myro Electrical, you will contribute to the installation and certification of high-performance cabling systems in critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and install structured cabling systems for data centers and enterprise networks.
• Perform high-density fiber optic cable installations with precision.
• Certify cabling systems using advanced test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement proper cable management in network rooms to maintain organization and efficiency.
• Terminate and test high-speed copper and fiber connections with accuracy.
• Maintain detailed testing documentation and warranty records.
• Coordinate pathway installations with other trades to ensure seamless integration.
• Perform data center hot aisle/cold aisle separation for optimal cooling efficiency.
• Install overhead cable tray and ladder rack systems to support infrastructure needs.
• Maintain clean room protocols for sensitive environments to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Work with local Newport regulations regarding environmental and safety standards.
• Engage in community-focused projects that emphasize sustainability and innovation.

Required Qualifications

• BICSI Installer 1 certification required; Installer 2 preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with fiber optic installation and testing.
• Proficiency with multiple certification testers essential for quality assurance.
• Understanding of data center design principles to ensure effective implementation.
• Experience with cable management systems and pathways to enhance system organization.
• Knowledge of clean room procedures to maintain a controlled environment.
• Ability to read and create cable installation drawings for effective project execution.
• Understanding of network hardware requirements for seamless integration.
• 1-5 years of experience required for Voice Data work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Newport’s local building codes and regulations.
• Capability to engage in projects that require off-hours work in active data centers.
