Mirapath, a leader in fiber optic solutions, is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Network Specialist to join our team in Arlington, TX. This role involves working on advanced enterprise fiber systems, serving not only Arlington but also the neighboring cities of Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, and Irving. As part of our dedicated team, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge fiber networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and performance. The position requires a deep understanding of fiber infrastructure and an ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, making it ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive fiber optic networks tailored to client specifications.
  • Perform precise fusion splicing operations to ensure optimal connectivity.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and certification of fiber installations using OTDR and other testing equipment.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate splice documentation for all projects.
  • Install and configure fiber distribution systems and DWDM systems to enhance network capacity.
  • Implement effective fiber management systems and coordinate pathway installations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to uphold safety standards.
  • Lead emergency restoration efforts to swiftly resolve fiber network issues.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians, fostering skill development and team cohesion.
  • Collaborate on regional projects, such as the upcoming Arlington High-Speed Fiber Expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with Texas-specific regulations and standards for fiber installations.
  • Regularly participate in after-hours emergency response as project demands dictate.
  • Fulfill physical requirements, including performing precise hand work, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Required Qualifications

  • FOA certification is mandatory, demonstrating a foundational understanding of fiber optics.
  • Extensive experience with fusion splicing, showcasing proficiency in creating reliable fiber connections.
  • Proven expertise in OTDR testing, with a track record of successful network diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated ability with fiber management systems to maintain network integrity.
  • Advanced knowledge of various fiber types and their applications.
  • Certification in multiple splice platforms, indicating versatility and technical acumen.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, essential for identifying and resolving network issues.
  • Experience with comprehensive documentation systems to ensure project accuracy.
  • Proven emergency response experience, highlighting quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • 2-5 years of experience in fiber work within a commercial setting.
  • Familiarity with Arlington’s local infrastructure and regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the Arlington region, including Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, and Irving.
