Fire Alarm Installer at M3 Technology

M3 Technology, located in Tyler, TX, is seeking a dedicated Fire Alarm Installation Technician to join our team. This position focuses on commercial new construction projects within Tyler and its neighboring cities such as Longview, Kilgore, and Jacksonville. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of fire alarm system installations, including control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances, to ensure the highest safety standards are met in commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm control panels and devices in commercial settings.
• Pull and terminate fire alarm cables, ensuring compliance with regional codes.
• Mount notification appliances and initiation devices with precision.
• Assist with programming and testing of fire alarm systems.
• Maintain detailed point-to-point wiring documentation.
• Coordinate with other trades for accurate device placement during active construction phases.
• Perform pre-wire and trim-out phases efficiently.
• Install conduit and cable pathways as per project requirements.
• Troubleshoot system wiring issues, ensuring proper color coding and labeling.
• Assist with final testing and inspections to meet regulatory standards.
• Adhere to Texas-specific installation regulations and codes.
• Participate in a major upcoming project in the Tyler area, such as the development of the new Tyler Innovation District.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with commercial fire alarm systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72 requirements and fire alarm circuit types.
• Basic programming skills for fire alarm systems.
• Ability to use multimeters and other testing equipment effectively.
• Attention to detail for accurate documentation and voltage drop calculations.
• Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and inspectors.
• Familiarity with local building codes and industry regulations in Tyler.
