Data Center Technician at M3 Technology
M3 Technology, located in Oak Park, IL, is seeking a dedicated Data Center Technician to join our team. Situated near Chicago, Cicero, and Berwyn, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data center projects. The technician will play a crucial role in managing our critical facility infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across power, cooling, and monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain critical data center infrastructure
- Perform server installations and decommissions
- Manage cable plant documentation
- Implement hot/cold aisle containment strategies
- Coordinate maintenance windows and perform power circuit installations
- Maintain battery backup systems and monitor environmental controls
- Execute change management procedures and manage equipment lifecycle
- Perform network hardware installations and maintain security protocols
- Oversee the implementation of a new data center expansion project in Oak Park
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards
- Collaborate with local teams on sustainability initiatives
Required Qualifications
- BICSI Data Center Technician certification preferred
- Experience with critical infrastructure management
- Proficiency in dressing and terminating cables
- Demonstrated ability with DCIM systems
- Strong documentation skills
- Experience with change management procedures
- Clean background check required
- 3-5 years of experience in data center work in a commercial setting
- Familiarity with Illinois environmental and safety regulations
- Ability to commute within the Oak Park region
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $29.51-$37.81 per hour depending on experience
