Key Responsibilities

As an Industrial Apprentice Electrician at JD Electric, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our automated systems. Your responsibilities will include installing and terminating 480V 3-phase power distribution systems and performing precise conduit bending for complex industrial applications. You will assist with VFD and motor control installations, ensuring optimal performance of our equipment, and conduct preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime. Utilizing digital multimeters and meggars for testing, you will maintain detailed maintenance logs and assist with PLC cabinet assembly. Adhering to confined space and elevated work procedures is essential, as is supporting production equipment installations. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Mississippi-specific electrical codes and regulations and collaborating with local teams to implement energy-saving initiatives. Your expertise will also be called upon to support emergency maintenance calls around the Jackson area, ensuring our operations never miss a beat.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess an OSHA-30 certification and have the ability to read and interpret industrial electrical blueprints and P&IDs. Demonstrated knowledge of motor control circuits and experience with conduit bending machines up to 2” are crucial. Proficiency with digital testing equipment and strong mathematical skills for load calculations will set you apart. You must be adept with hand and power tools, ensuring safety in every task, and have a solid understanding of industrial network infrastructure. We require 1-3 years of experience in an industrial setting for Apprentice work. Familiarity with Jackson’s industrial landscape and ability to adapt to local industry standards will be advantageous. Additionally, possessing strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teams across the Jackson metropolitan area will be key to success.
