Overview of Office Apprentice Electrician Role

The Office Apprentice Electrician at Jackson Electric will be an integral part of our commercial projects team. The apprentice will work closely with experienced electricians to learn the intricacies of electrical systems in commercial settings and will gain hands-on experience across various projects.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings.
• Support the team in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Learn to interpret blueprints and technical diagrams for electrical systems.
• Help maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Utilize basic test equipment, power tools, and hand tools under supervision.
• Engage in continuous learning and development through on-the-job training and mentorship.
• Contribute to the completion of commercial projects, such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for North Carolina.
• Familiarity with basic test equipment and power tools.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices and protocols.
• Basic Electrical Safety and First Aid/CPR certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools in electrical applications.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Hickory, NC.
• Neighboring cities: Newton, Conover, Lenoir, Morganton, and Statesville.
• Schedule: Full-time position, with standard working hours and potential for overtime as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $20.23-$27.12 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
