Fire Alarm Installer at Integra Electrical

Integra Electrical is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Installation Technician to join our team in Layton, UT. As a part of our dedicated crew, you’ll work primarily on commercial new construction projects across Layton and its surrounding areas, including Kaysville, Clearfield, and Syracuse. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients’ facilities by installing state-of-the-art fire alarm systems. Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure fire alarm control panels and associated devices, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
• Pull, terminate, and test fire alarm cables, maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Mount notification appliances and initiating devices with precision and accuracy.
• Assist with system programming and conduct comprehensive testing to ensure system functionality.
• Maintain detailed point-to-point wiring documentation, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate.
• Coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure optimal device placement and system integration.
• Perform pre-wire and trim-out phases, ensuring all components are correctly installed.
• Install conduit and cable pathways, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.
• Troubleshoot system wiring issues, providing effective solutions to ensure system reliability.
• Maintain proper color coding and labeling of all system components for easy identification and maintenance.
• Assist with final system testing and inspections, ensuring all systems meet regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Utah-specific regulations, including adherence to local building codes and safety standards.
• Participate in the upcoming “Layton Business Park” project, a large-scale commercial development slated for the coming months.
• Coordinate with local fire marshals and inspectors to ensure all installations meet regional safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in commercial fire alarm installation, demonstrating a solid understanding of system components and installation practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA 72 requirements and fire alarm circuit types.
• Experience with basic programming of fire alarm systems and the ability to use multimeter and other testing equipment.
• Attention to detail in maintaining documentation and wiring records.
• Understanding of voltage drop calculations and their impact on system performance.
• Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and other trades on-site.
• Familiarity with regional safety standards and building codes specific to the Layton area.
• Valid Utah driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to various job sites.
