Key Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system installations, gaining hands-on experience in commercial wiring methods.
• Support power distribution projects and help with lighting control programming.
• Install conduit and cable pathways efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain material inventory to ensure all necessary tools and materials are available for each project.
• Operate lift equipment under supervision to safely reach work areas.
• Assist with fire alarm installation and ensure compliance with local safety standards.
• Document daily work activities for accurate project tracking and reporting.
• Support panel installation and testing, learning to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Learn the basics of building automation systems to enhance project scope.
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
• Assist with the installation of photovoltaic systems as part of Lexington’s sustainability initiatives.
• Participate in the upcoming Lexington Mega Mall project, a significant commercial development requiring extensive electrical work.
• Comply with all regional safety and installation standards specific to Kentucky.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in a state-approved apprenticeship program.
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read construction drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools and a valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders.
• Good communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Commitment to ongoing education and skill development.
• 1-5 years of experience required for Voice Data work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Kentucky’s electrical codes and regulations.
• Willingness to travel within the Lexington metro area for projects.
• Knowledge of local landmarks and infrastructure to facilitate efficient project planning.
