Overview of the Commercial Electrician Role

As a Commercial Electrician at IES Electric, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of our commercial projects. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.

Essential Functions

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial structures such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and code books to determine layout of electrical systems.
• Perform conduit bending and installation with precision and attention to detail.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.
• Collaborate with other electricians and construction professionals to deliver high-quality results.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company safety protocols and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Texas.
• Proficiency in conduit bending and understanding of code books.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures in the electrical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with blueprint reading is highly desirable.
• Previous experience working on commercial projects is a plus.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Sherman, TX
• Neighboring cities include Denison, Howe, Van Alstyne, and Knollwood, TX.
• Schedule: Full-time position, with flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as projects require.
