Overview of Office Electrician Role
The Office Electrician at IES Electric plays a crucial role in the successful execution of our commercial projects. This position requires an individual who is adept at working in dynamic environments and can handle the complexities of commercial electrical systems. The Office Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems within a variety of commercial settings, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Essential Functions

Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects
- Execute electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and code books to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Utilize advanced test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA 30 and Arc Flash Safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects.

Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
- Valid electrical license for the state of North Carolina.
- Proven experience with advanced test equipment and blueprint reading.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in various positions.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures relevant to the electrical trade.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with interpreting and applying code books.
- Prior experience working on commercial projects, particularly in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, or schools.
Location & Schedule
- Primary Location: Indian Trail, NC
- Neighboring Cities: Matthews, Monroe, Mint Hill, Charlotte, Stallings, Weddington, and Hemby Bridge.
- Schedule: Full-time position with typical working hours falling within standard business times, with occasional requirements for overtime or weekend work depending on project demands.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $33.94-$38.02 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
