What You’ll Do as an Electrician

Your Daily Tasks as an Electrician

Installation and Setup of Electrical Systems

Every day, you will engage in the installation of commercial electrical systems, including switchgear, panels, and transformers. You’ll measure, cut, bend, and accurately install EMT and rigid conduit based on detailed blueprints. This involves precise work and a keen eye for detail to ensure everything fits perfectly.

Wiring and Connections

You’ll pull and terminate wires within conduits and boxes, ensuring that all connections are secure and neatly organized. Installing and wiring lighting fixtures, outlets, and power circuits will also be a regular part of your duties, ensuring that all installations meet our high standards.

Testing and Troubleshooting

Using tools like multimeters, you will perform testing and troubleshooting of circuits and electrical components. This is crucial to maintaining the functionality and safety of our electrical systems. Your problem-solving skills will be put to good use as you diagnose and fix any issues that arise.

Collaboration and Coordination

You’ll work closely with other trades to plan and complete installations within project timelines. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as your work is often interconnected with other construction activities. Maintaining organized, clean, and compliant work areas is a shared responsibility.

Additional Daily Activities

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

What You Need to Be an Electrician

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To thrive as an Electrician at High Point Networks, proficiency with conduit benders and power tools is a must. You’ll need an in-depth knowledge of NEC codes and strong troubleshooting skills to address any challenges you encounter. Experience with lighting control systems will be beneficial, as will the ability to work on lifts and scaffolding safely.

Experience and Leadership

We’re looking for candidates with 3-5 years of field experience as an Electrician. Leadership capabilities are important, as mentoring apprentices is part of the role. Your hands-on abilities and practical knowledge will be key to your success and growth within our team.
