The Apprentice Electrician Position

As an Apprentice Electrician at High Point Networks, you will be immersed in a stimulating work environment where learning and growth are key components. Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist licensed electricians in the installation of residential electrical systems, including wiring for outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures. You will pull and secure electrical cables through walls, attics, and crawl spaces, and set up and maintain job site tools and materials. Basic tasks such as mounting electrical boxes and preparing conduit for wiring will be part of your routine duties. You will help with labeling and organizing wires according to system plans, maintaining safety practices, and ensuring a clean job site by properly storing or disposing of tools and debris. Advanced technical duties will include troubleshooting basic electrical issues, assisting in the installation of smart home systems, and performing initial inspections of electrical systems under supervision. Projects in the region often demand expertise in hurricane-proof electrical installations and energy-efficient systems, giving you exposure to cutting-edge industry practices. Safety is paramount; you will adhere to strict safety protocols, participate in regular safety training sessions, and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.

Required Experience & Skills

To qualify for this position, you should have a basic knowledge of residential wiring and circuits, along with the ability to handle tools such as pliers and drills. Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and reliable transportation to job sites are essential. You should have between 0-2 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician. Essential certifications include OSHA 10-Hour Construction and CPR/First Aid. Required technical knowledge encompasses understanding blueprints, basic circuit troubleshooting, and familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Tools & Equipment

Our Apprentice Electricians use a range of tools daily, including wire strippers, voltage testers, and conduit benders. You are expected to provide personal tools like a tool belt, pliers, and a multimeter. High Point Networks provides company-specific equipment such as ladders, power drills, and safety gear to ensure you are well-equipped for any task.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in various conditions, including confined spaces and elevated platforms. You will often work outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions. Safety gear, including hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves, is mandatory and provided to ensure your protection on the job.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $20.98-$30.2 per hour, commensurate with experience. Our compensation package includes career advancement opportunities, ongoing training, and certifications to enhance your skills and knowledge. Overtime is available and compensated at a premium rate. We provide a tool allowance to help maintain your personal equipment and offer additional perks such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off to ensure a balanced work-life experience.
