Overview of the Office Electrician Role

At Helix Electric, the Office Electrician plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of commercial projects. Based in our Smyrna, TN office, this position involves hands-on electrical work in various commercial settings, ensuring that all installations meet our rigorous standards for safety and performance. The Office Electrician will work closely with project managers and other team members to deliver exceptional results on projects such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.

Essential Functions

• Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects

  • Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on various electrical systems in commercial buildings.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review project plans and specifications, ensuring all work complies with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Utilize advanced test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including materials used and hours worked.

• Required Certifications

  • Arc Flash Safety Certification
  • CA State Journeyman License

• Experience with:

  • Code Books
  • Advanced Test Equipment
  • Blueprint Reading

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for Tennessee.
• Proven experience with Code Books and Advanced Test Equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety protocols and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Blueprint Reading, enabling accurate interpretation and implementation of project plans.
• Prior experience working on commercial projects, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these environments.

• Schedule: Full-time, with the possibility of overtime based on project demands.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $34.78 - $38.76 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
