The Low Voltage Cable Technician at HCI Systems plays a critical role in the installation and maintenance of low voltage cabling systems, primarily focusing on healthcare facilities projects in Glen Allen, VA, and the surrounding areas. This position involves working closely with project managers and other technicians to ensure the successful completion of cabling projects to meet client specifications and industry standards.

Essential Functions for Low Voltage Cable Technician

• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling for data, voice, and video communications.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of cable systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations on all installations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations and repairs for future reference.
• Assist in the planning and design of cabling systems for new construction and renovation projects.

Required Qualifications for Low Voltage Cable Technician at HCI Systems

• 2-4 years of experience in low voltage cabling, preferably in healthcare facilities.
• Required certification: BICSI Installer 2.
• Proficient in using punch down tools and cable testers.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: Fiber Optic Certification.
• Experience with wire mapping tools and advanced troubleshooting equipment.
• Specialized experience in healthcare facility cabling projects.
• Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools related to cabling installation.

• Primary location: Glen Allen, VA.
• Additional locations: Richmond, Mechanicsville, Ashland, Short Pump.
• Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime based on project needs.

• Pay range: $27.69-$33.84 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
