Commercial Electrician at Direct Connect

Direct Connect, a leader in electrical and security system solutions, is seeking a Commercial Security Systems Specialist to join our team in Wyoming, MI. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining enterprise-level integrated security solutions across various commercial sites. Our projects span across Wyoming and neighboring cities such as Grand Rapids, Kentwood, and Walker. As a specialist at Direct Connect, you’ll be at the forefront of security technology, ensuring that our clients’ infrastructures are secure, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Security Systems Specialist, you will:

• Install and maintain sophisticated commercial security systems, ensuring seamless operation across multiple sites.
• Program and configure complex access control systems and surveillance equipment, including IP camera networks and VLAN configurations.
• Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect security networks, coordinating with IT teams for comprehensive network integration.
• Manage and secure credential databases, ensuring only authorized personnel have access.
• Supervise the installation and maintenance of biometric devices, ensuring compliance with all security protocols.
• Perform regular system health monitoring, identifying and resolving any potential issues proactively.
• Document system configurations in detail, maintaining accurate records for future reference and audits.
• Conduct end-user training sessions to ensure efficient and secure use of security platforms.
• Maintain detailed records of all testing and maintenance activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Integrate security systems with building automation systems for enhanced operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with regional stakeholders to ensure compliance with Michigan-specific security regulations and standards.
• Provide after-hours support and perform maintenance during designated windows to minimize operational disruptions.
• Support the upcoming Grand River Business Park project in Wyoming, MI, which involves the installation of a state-of-the-art integrated security system.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Security+ certification preferred, with extensive experience in handling VMS platforms and access control systems.
• A proven track record in IP networking and advanced knowledge of cybersecurity protocols.
• Certification in security system programming and strong IT and database management skills.
• Experience with enterprise security architecture and a clean background check.
• 3-5 years of journeyman work experience in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with regional security requirements and industry standards specific to Michigan.
• Ability to work collaboratively with local teams in Wyoming and surrounding areas to ensure seamless project execution.
