Service Electrician at Crosby Electric

Crosby Electric, located in Springfield, IL, seeks a Senior Service Electrician specializing in critical facilities and power quality. This role demands expertise in advanced diagnostics, power monitoring systems, and building automation integration. As part of our team, you will serve the greater Springfield area, including neighboring cities such as Chatham, Riverton, and Rochester. You will be the primary technical resource for complex electrical issues in critical facilities like data centers and healthcare institutions, ensuring reliable operations and swift emergency responses.

Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced electrical system diagnostics using power quality analyzers, thermal imaging, and oscilloscopes. Troubleshoot building automation system integration issues and design and implement power factor correction solutions. Diagnose and repair complex lighting control systems. Manage emergency power system testing and maintenance. Develop and implement maintenance programs tailored for critical facilities and provide detailed repair documentation and recommendations. Train facility staff on proper electrical system operation and coordinate with utilities on service upgrades. Perform arc flash assessments and labeling.

Additional responsibilities specific to the Springfield area include coordinating with local utility companies for power supply optimization, ensuring compliance with Illinois state electrical codes, and participating in regional emergency response drills. Engage with local industry groups to stay updated on advancements in electrical safety and system efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Journeyman License with a preference for a Master Electrician certification. Advanced certifications in power quality analysis are necessary. Extensive experience with thermal imaging and diagnostic equipment, along with proven expertise in critical power systems, is required. Demonstrated ability in customer relationship management and advanced troubleshooting skills across multiple systems and manufacturers. Certification in building automation systems and experience with arc flash studies and safety program development are essential.

Candidates must have at least 7+ years of experience in a commercial setting. Familiarity with Springfield’s specific electrical infrastructure and regulations, as well as knowledge of local emergency protocols, is highly beneficial.
