Position Overview at Convergint
As a Low Voltage Cable Technician at Convergint in Midlothian, VA, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of low voltage systems, particularly within healthcare facilities. You will work closely with project teams to ensure the successful implementation of cabling systems, supporting both new installations and existing infrastructure upgrades in Midlothian and the surrounding areas.
Essential Functions for Low Voltage Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling and related equipment.
- Execute daily tasks including running, pulling, and connecting cables.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct site assessments to determine cabling needs and solutions.
- Maintain documentation related to installations and service activities.
Required Qualifications for Low Voltage Cable Technician at Convergint
- 2-4 years of experience in low voltage cabling or a similar field.
- Network+ Certification is mandatory.
- Proficient in the use of punch down tools and cable testers.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI Technician certification is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cable management systems and best practices.
- Experience working on healthcare facility projects is an advantage.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in cable installation and maintenance.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Midlothian, VA
- Additional locations: Richmond, Chesterfield, Bon Air, Glen Allen, and Colonial Heights.
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential on-call duties or overtime as required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $28.15-$34.45 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
