The Data Center Cable Tech position at Convergint involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cabling systems in Pleasant Hill, CA, and the surrounding areas. This role focuses on projects within educational institutions, requiring a keen eye for detail and adherence to industry standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the seamless operation and integration of data center infrastructures.
Essential Functions for Data Center Cable Tech
- Design and install structured cabling systems for data centers, focusing on educational environments.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of cabling infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Document and report on cabling installations and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications for Data Center Cable Tech at Convergint
- 3-6 years of professional experience in data center cabling.
- Required certifications: Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP) or Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP).
- Proven experience with CommScope Infrastructure and Panduit Cable Management systems.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification in Fiber Optic systems is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience with CommScope Infrastructure.
- Specialized experience in educational institution projects.
- Proficient in the use of cable testing tools and equipment.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Pleasant Hill, CA
- Additional locations: Walnut Creek, Concord, Martinez, Lafayette, and other neighboring cities.
- Schedule: Full-time
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $30.06-$35.94 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
