Position Overview at Convergint
As a Cable Technician at Convergint in Falls Church, VA, you will play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cabling systems in office buildings. The position involves working primarily in Falls Church and the surrounding areas, providing technical expertise and exceptional service to our clients.
Essential Functions for Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and certify structured cable systems, including fiber optic and copper cables.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and provide accurate project estimates.
- Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at Convergint
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Required certification: BICSI Technician.
- Proficient with Cable Testers and Cable Management Systems.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various physical settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: Network+ Certification.
- Experience using Punch Down Tools.
- Specialized experience in office building cabling projects.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in cable installations.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Falls Church, VA.
- Additional locations: Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, McLean, and Tysons, VA.
- Schedule: Full-time.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.22-$32.53 per hour.
