As a Cable Technician at Convergint in Chico, CA, you will play a pivotal role in installing and maintaining low voltage cabling systems primarily within educational institutions. Your responsibilities will encompass working on projects in Chico and surrounding areas, ensuring all installations meet industry standards and client specifications. Requirements for Cable Technician

• Key responsibilities for Cable Technician at Convergint:

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling systems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all cabling installations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure timely project completion.

• Low voltage cabling installation:

  • Install cat6 and fiber optic cables in various educational settings.
  • Perform cable pulls, terminations, and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

• Tool proficiency for daily tasks:

  • Must be skilled in using cable testers, termination equipment, and hand tools.

• Daily tasks:

  • Conduct site surveys and prepare materials for installations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues efficiently.
  • Provide on-site support during project execution.

• Project involvement:

  • Engage in installation projects from inception to completion.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning process.

Qualifications for Cable Technician at Convergint

• 2-5 years of experience in low voltage cabling installation.
• Required certification: Fiber Optic Certification.
• Experience with: Cable Testers, Termination Equipment.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: BICSI Technician.
• Experience with advanced cable testing equipment.

• Primary location: Chico, CA.
• Additional locations: Oroville, Paradise, Red Bluff, Yuba City, and Redding.
• Schedule: Full-time.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $31.88-$37.49 per hour.
