Coatings Engineer Position Overview

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Core Coatings Engineer Responsibilities

Perform Nuclear Service Level 1 Coatings Inspections and Certifications

You’ll conduct rigorous inspections and certifications to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity in our coatings solutions.

Qualify and Supervise Level 1 and Level 2 Coatings Inspectors

You will oversee and mentor a team of inspectors, providing guidance and ensuring that all inspections meet our stringent quality standards.

Train and Qualify Applicators

Your role includes training applicators in the latest coatings application techniques, ensuring they are fully qualified to execute projects to our clients’ satisfaction.

Review Coating Specifications

You’ll critically assess coating specifications in RFP documents, tailoring our approaches to meet project-specific needs and enhancing our competitive edge.

Assess and Improve Coating Methods

A key aspect of your role will be to evaluate current methods and recommend improvements. This includes suggesting advanced techniques and state-of-the-art application equipment.

Interface with Customers

Qualifications

Essential Certifications

  • NACE/SSPC/AMPP Level 1 Certification (Level 2, Level 3, or Nuclear Coatings Inspection Specialty preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Required Experience and Technical Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on inspection experience in coatings.
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial nuclear coatings.
  • Comprehensive understanding of coatings chemistry and application processes.
