This position demands expertise in emergency power, lighting controls, and building automation integration, catering to the vibrant construction landscape of Baltimore.
Key Responsibilities
Design and install complete electrical systems for commercial construction, calculate voltage drop and load requirements, and coordinate with BIM modeling teams for conflict resolution. Supervise prefabrication of electrical assemblies and implement complex lighting control systems. Install and program fire alarm systems, manage material logistics for large projects, and coordinate overhead rough-in with mechanical trades. Perform startup and commissioning of building systems, mentor apprentices in commercial installation techniques, and ensure compliance with Maryland energy codes. Oversee projects in Baltimore’s diverse urban environments, ensuring integration with local energy infrastructure, and adhere to city-specific safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
Possess a Journeyman License and extensive experience with lighting control systems (DALI, DMX). Demonstrated expertise in fire alarm installation and programming and proficiency with BIM software for coordination. Advanced knowledge of emergency power systems and certification in multiple lift equipment types are essential. Strong project management and leadership skills, with experience in green building requirements and energy codes. Must have 3-5 years of experience in a commercial setting, familiarity with Baltimore’s building codes, and the ability to navigate local permitting processes.
