Cable Tech Lead at AVI SPL

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a seasoned and dynamic Cable Tech Lead at our Lake Oswego, OR location. The ideal candidate will bring to our team 5-8 years of relevant experience and a deep understanding of cabling technology, preferably in an educational environment. This role is part of a robust regional team of more than 10 professionals delivering top-tier services. The Cable Tech Lead will have a flexible schedule with occasional travel within 30 miles of the home base.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the installation and maintenance of cable systems
• Conduct routine inspections of cable systems to ensure optimal performance
• Operate and maintain OTDR Testing tools, Fluke Networks, Cable Certification equipment, and Network Analysis tools
• Train and mentor junior cable technicians
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients and team members
• Ensure all tasks are in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in cable technology
• BICSI Technician certification
• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification
• Proficiency with OTDR Testing, Fluke Networks, Cable Certification, and Network Analysis
• Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
• Network+ certification
• Previous experience in an educational environment
