What You’ll Do as an Audio Visual Technician

As an Audio Visual Technician at AVI SPL in North Miami, you’ll play a crucial role in bringing our cutting-edge audio-visual projects to life. Your Daily Tasks as an Audio Visual Technician

Set Up and Installation

Your primary responsibility will be to install and set up audio-visual systems, including projectors, monitors, speakers, and microphones, in various commercial environments. You’ll work with precision to route and terminate low-voltage cabling for AV components, ensuring that everything is properly labeled and connected for optimal performance.

Equipment Mounting and System Testing

You’ll mount and secure equipment such as displays, ceiling speakers, and wall control panels. Once installed, you’ll perform on-site system testing to verify sound quality, video clarity, and overall functionality, ensuring that all systems meet our high standards.

Troubleshooting and Collaboration

When systems don’t perform as expected, you’ll dive into troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues, making necessary adjustments to get everything back on track. You’ll also collaborate closely with construction teams, integrating AV systems into larger project plans to ensure seamless execution.

Documentation and Maintenance

Your role will involve documenting installation details, including wiring diagrams and equipment configurations, for future reference. You’ll maintain organized tools, materials, and work areas on job sites, ensuring that everything is in its place for efficient work.

Additional Daily Activities

• Conduct regular maintenance checks on installed equipment.
• Provide support and guidance to junior technicians on installation procedures.

What You Need to Be an Audio Visual Technician

You’ll need a solid foundation in audio-visual installations, with 3-5 years of experience in the field. A deep knowledge of AV system components and connectivity standards is essential, along with proficiency in routing and terminating low-voltage cabling. Attention to detail in mounting and alignment is crucial, as is effective communication for client interactions.
