The Alarm Installer Position
Daily Responsibilities
As an Alarm Installer with AVI SPL, your day-to-day activities will include installing and maintaining a variety of alarm systems. You will work closely with seasoned professionals to ensure the seamless integration of systems in homes, offices, and industrial settings. Your tasks will include wiring, equipment setup, and system testing, all while adhering to our strict safety standards.

Core Alarm Installer Responsibilities
Technical Duties
- Assist in the installation of fire alarm systems by pulling low-voltage wiring and securing it within conduits and cable trays.
- Mount devices such as smoke detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances according to layout plans.
- Perform labeling and basic testing of installed components under supervision.
- Prepare tools and materials for daily tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Conduct advanced system diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Program and calibrate alarm systems for optimal performance.
- Customize installations to meet specific client needs and regional safety standards.
Safety Protocols
Safety is our top priority. You will follow rigorous safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to local and national safety regulations, ensuring a safe workspace for you and your colleagues.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience and Skills
- 0-2 years minimum experience as an Alarm Installer.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools like drills and cable strippers.
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
Certifications
- NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and Health certification.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools for system testing and troubleshooting.
Tools & Equipment
Daily Tools
- Wire cutters, multimeters, and conduit benders are essential tools used daily by our Alarm Installers.
Personal Tools
- Installers are expected to have their own set of basic hand tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers.

Physical Requirements
Lifting Requirements
- Alarm Installers should be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, handling equipment and materials necessary for installations.
