Security Technician at MMR Group
Location: Atlanta, GA
Compensation: $22-$36/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend shifts
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Security Technician to join our team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems for commercial and residential clients. This includes CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and network-based security solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and configure security systems, including:
- CCTV surveillance cameras and DVR/NVR systems
- Intrusion detection and alarm systems
- Access control systems (keycard readers, biometric scanners, etc.)
- Network-based security devices and integrations
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure all installations comply with local codes and industry standards.
- Train clients on the operation of their security systems.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and equipment used.
- Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure timely project completion.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in security system installation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in working with low-voltage wiring and electronic systems.
- Knowledge of networking principles, including IP addressing and device configuration.
- Familiarity with major security system brands (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, Hikvision, Lenel, or Genetec).
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Certification in Fire Alarm or Security Systems.
- Experience with structured cabling and IT integration.
- Knowledge of cloud-based security platforms.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Tools and Equipment:
- Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, crimpers, etc.)
- Power tools (drills, saws, etc.)
- Multimeters and cable testers.
- Ladders and other safety equipment.
- Laptop or tablet for programming and documentation.
